What is ground
source heat? Energy from the sun is absorbed by the earth. The
energy below the surface is available to be extracted by use of an
energy collector, ground source heat pump, a hot water store and a
heat delivery system in the property (underfloor heating or oversized
radiators).
The heat pumps contain a
refrigerant circuit which boosts the temperatures to useful levels.
The system provides the
sole source of heating and hot water production for the home.
Heat is extracted from the
ground either via a bore hole or ground loop connections (pipework).
